2002-05-29///10:06 p.m. i dont remember much about when she was born as i was only 3 myself. i do remember that everyone called her peanut, cos she was so small and docile, carried everywhere she went. my mom even made a peanut costume for halloween when she was 2 or 3. and she always had this rash on her cheeks from teething that gave her this rosey-cheeked-i'm-so-damed-cute little face. bees attacked her in her sleep when we shared a room on 333 Lardner St. then she entered the 'chipmunk-cheeked/casper-Tshirt phase' that i wont elaborate on cos she'd probably kill me. and now, it seems so sudden that she's 17, with only a year left of high school. a head taller than i (even though she's supposed to be my little sister), she's abandoned the chipmunk cheeks for the face of a porcelain irish angel. though occasionally still a bit irrational and extremist like her father, she's given up attacking karley with butter knives and, once in a while, she let's that golden heart of hers shine through. i take it for granted that she's my sister, sometimes. but as i think about the remarkable person she's become, i'm floored by my good fortune of having her as my sister and friend. it must be in the genes. ;) happy birthday, kara michelle. |
