06.07.02///11:09 a.m. as i sat on my sofa last night with my lamp over my shoulder, reading some sedaris, mark and ian busted through my front door, cigarettes in mouth and beer cans in hand. a handsome couple of boys, if they'd only extinguish their butts, please. mark can never look you in the eye when he's intoxicated. and ian cant shut up. ian likes to talk important talk: the future, usually. they successfully coaxed me away from my book and over to their house, where a sloshed darn slurred to his two female friends, and something strange was happening in the kitchen with joe and another lovely female friend of mine. i took a seat next to ian. who continued to talk important talk. somehow, the subject on my secret (and faded) crush on dave came up, and darn and ian drilled me: "we think he's in love with you."(well, thats nice, isnt it?) "are you sure you want to be with dan forever? no doubts at all?" (none at the moment) "don't you ever get curious what it'd be like to have a different experience with a different boy?" (um, sometimes, but its always a passing thought.) then ian dropped the bomb. clearing his throat and fidgeting around. "um. yeah. um. heh. well, you know, if you're ever looking for a different experience with a different boy, i could be that different boy." followed by some nervous drunked banter i couldnt quite follow. i'm convinced its because they're usually drunk and i'm the only girl who comes around that house consistently. but part of me wants to believe that i'm so damn irresistable that i've got a whole house of boys desperately in love with me. |
